How To Reach

Hubli in Karnataka is the headquarters of one of the five divisions of South Central Railway. Besides Hubli, Bellary and Raichur are the other major centers of SCR falling in Karnataka.
 

What To See

Hampi

About 50 kms off Bellary is Hampi, once the capital of the mighty Vijaynagar Empire, which extended from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Deccan Plateau to the tip of the Southern Peninsula. The Virupaksha Temple, the Hazari Rama Temple, the Vittala Temple and the ruins of the King’s Court and Queens’ Bath are monuments of great importance that represent the history and culture of the Vijaynagar Empire.

Hospet

A few kilometers off Bellary is the Hospet Dam. Built across River Tungabhadra, the Dam is a beautiful sight to behold and a great picnic spot.

Bidar

Falling on the Secunderabad – Parli route, Bidar was the ancient capital of the Nizamshahis of the Bahamani Empire. Bidar houses some of the best remains of Indo – Sarcenic architecture. Bidar is also known for the famous Bidri craft – silver metal inlay on black gunmetal.
