SCR ACHIEVES HIGHEST EVER FREIGHT LOADING AND

REGISTERS A RECORD FREIGHT EARNING OF Rs. 3415 Crs.

South Central Railway has achieved a record growth of 70 Million Tonnes in originating freight loading during the just concluded financial year 2007-08, riding over the best ever incremental loading of 7.8 Million Tonnes during the year. South Central Railway registered a growth of 12.5 % in orginating loading over the last year against Indian Railways average growth of 9%. South Central Railway also surpassed the target of 68.5 Million Tonnes set by Railway Board by 2.2% by loading 1.5 Million Tonnes more than the target.

In terms of freight earnings, the performance of SCR in 2007-08 is even more creditable. South Central Railway posted an impressive growth of 21.5% over last year by earning Rs. 3415 Crs. (approx).in the year 2007-08, surpassing the target by Rs. 85 Crs. and last year’s earnings by Rs. 605 Crs.
